Lock or Restrict "Entry Date" in AP Invoice Entry for tracking purposes

We've been on V14 for about 45 days now and I have noticed that there is a field called "entry date" in the AP invoice entry screen (if I remember correctly, this field may have been called GL date in V13...the date above "invoice date") and would like to use it to track the time from the invoice date until when an invoice is entered using info-link and/or excel to run some analysis. We would like a way to have “Entry date” restricted from being changed in AP invoice entry though because if this field can be changed (which it can now) then could make the data suspect. If anyone else has a recommendation for another way to track this please pass along. thank you

I agree. This is extremely problematic as if a processor pulls up an invoice that was already entered, the "entry date" for that invoice remains when entering any invoices after that point (unless the processor completely backs out of the invoice entry screen). Viewpoint indicated this was working as intended and was meant to allow for batches to be entered with a single change to the entry date. It's very problematic for us. We'd like the ability to lock down this field to prevent changes to the date...and have it default to the current processing date.
