Our employees have the option to set up a HSA.  The max deposit is $2500/year.  Employees are paid weekly. Many employees who use automatic deposit, deposit their HSA deducted amount into a different bank account (many times even a different bank) than their payroll net deposit.  The problem that we have is whenever there is a change in the deduction amount of the HSA. There is nothing to remind or tell us to change the auto deposit to the employees HSA bank account.  This is really a problem when the HSA deduction is changed automatically as in the case that they reach the HSA deduction limit set in Spectrum.  EXAMPLE: We have a $2500 HSA deduction limit set in Spectrum.  An employee normally deducts $59/week from their check that is set up to automatically deposit into their HSA bank account.  On their November 12 payroll check they reached their max HSA contribution with a $45 deduction. If you look at their payroll check it shows that $45 was deducted and $45 was deposited into their HSA bank account.  What actually happened was $45 was deducted but $59 was deposited into their HSA account because we did not know that they had reached their max. contribution and thus did not catch to change the auto deposit to their HSA bank account.

Another problem with this occurs because we deduct all benefit payments each week except 5 week months.  Our payroll person sometimes forgets to turn off the auto deposit for the employee HSA bank account on the weeks that the deduction is not taken.

We need some way to link a HSA deduction to an employees auto deposit...at least that would be one solution.
