A/R sales distribution sort

What's with the sales distribution sort?  Previously it was by g/l date.  Now it appears to be by date of transaction (which does not even appear in the report) in latest to first order, and then by invoice number, from lowest to highest.
This makes no sense.  Never seen anything in over 40 years of public and private accounting.  Logically, the report should be in g/l date order and then by invoice number.  I think it was correct to begin with.  Is this another misguided, customer requested "enhancement"?  Please fix!
