Have the ability to make User Defined Field a manadatory entry field

Ability to make a User Defined Field be made a manadatory entry field

In the example below (this is a UDF in the Payroll module):

We have a UDF for 401K eligibility (Y or N response). This field feeds into a custom program we have with D&C for 401K Reporting. If this field is not populated, then 401K information does not feed into the custom 401K program. We would like to make this 401K User Defined Field a required field so as to avoid human error (failing to choose Y or N on the UDF). This would save us having to file corrected 401K filings and incurring penalties.
