Item (HR) and Document (AP) Tracking

I used a multi-million dollar "Tier 1" ERP with a former employer that did not offer the capabilities of Item Tracking in HR and Document Tracking in AP.  These are handy and we're using them to track just about every deadline, office key, credit card, network login, Spectrum login etc. etc.

One "control" we're implementing is for someone to verify every quarter that office managers and HR collected all the company items on termination of employment (keys, phones and credit cards).  I'm going through the first quarterly review and have a few suggestions to make Item Tracking in HR more user friendly.

1) To change the due date on a credit card (for instance from 12/31/13 to 3/31/14) with a one-step process.  Currently, I believe, one has to return the item and reissue it to the same employee (opportunity for humaN error) to change the due date.

2) It would be great to be able to run this report for inactive or terminated employees - perhaps a parameter could be added (unless I'm missing something).
