Idea: Union Fringe Payroll Burden

More information: Enhancement Request: When selecting a % of burden on a job, the fringe benefits set up as add-ons, the additional Burden does post to job cost. the only way to use % of Burden vs. actual would be to set the add-ons up on the employees or if they need to be part of the Union set up, they would need to be set in the old method of fringe benefits. The enhancement request would provide the ability to select a % of burden with additional Burden of the new union add-on setups posting to job cost in detail.

Here are the customers thoughts:

Not happy with this answer…  There should be a way to be able to use the new method as that is how it should be handled with the tiers and have it recognize the option that we have chosen as a company to use standard burdens instead of actuals.  Every job is unchecked to post burden as actuals. 
 
At this point it would be very difficult to go backwards as we’ve already been paying the employees for several weeks under the new method.  In the old way we had a custom paycheck because we have to show the fringes on the check stub for YTD totals.  Now since they are an add-on it does show on the pay stub as a default (per our options selected on the add-on code).  We would have to re-setup the old fringes and update the rates on ones that changed at year end, void all the original checks, inactivate all the add-on codes, reactivate the old union and wage codes, move all the employees back to individual union codes and wage codes and recut checks under the old method so that their YTD information would be correct on the fringes on the custom checks.
 
Add-ons on the individual employees would be even more of a nightmare going forward and leave room for errors.
 
This needs to be looked at as a correction to the process.  We have other add-ons that do not post actuals to the jobs because they are not tied to the union benefits.  It should not be ignoring that we are choosing to post standard burdens instead of actuals just because these are union fringes.
