WO Notes - add progress note field

We have multiple people and multiple Service Techs sometimes working on a work order. We are looking into adding the Service Tech module so our Tech's can access the system from the field instead of using tons of paper. One thing I have noticed, is an issue with how our techs are going to add their notes as to where they are at. The current system works great if there is only one site visit on a WO. We will sometimes have 100 site visits on the same work order with a multitude of different techs - this is an extreme, but it would be common to have two different techs on multiple site visits. In either of these cases I believe it would be much better to have another note field similar to the invoice specific "internal notes" (in AR) where it logs who made the note, when it was added, and the note. This way it is difficult (if not impossible depending on permissions) for people to accidentally delete or modify old notes, and you can know who added what to the notes.
