It would be very nice to be able to change phase codes such that all cost history and budgets are moved to a new phase code, with the old phase code deactivated or deleted. This would be a big time saver.
Currently if we want to change a phase code we must first create a new phase, then reclassify history, then change the original budgets, then change any change requests that hit that phase code. This is an extremely tedious and manual process.
A simple "Change Phase Code" would be a blessing.

Unfortunately no this would not solve the problem. What is needed is the ability to replace one phase code (all cost types) with another phase code. So for example let's say 2 phase codes got created that are really duplicates of each other - the ability to merge the 2 codes into 1 is the functionality that is needed. Obviously it would have to change it in cost history, change request budgets, etc etc.
What about we offer the ability to quickly set up the phase on the fly if/when you enter one that doesn't exist? I am thinking of the way we handle this situation over in Change Request Entry...if the phase+ct do not exist, the user (with security) is prompted to add the phase.
Would that solve this one?
