We are implementing Service Contracts and have many contracts where the billing source is work order (set up in Contract Type). We are able to enter an override sales tax code on the Service Contract; however, when we create work orders from that Service Contract, the work order defaults the sales tax code from the Site rather than the Service Contract.
Many of our standard work orders (created in Work Order) should default to a taxable tax code; however the majority of our Service Contracts are NOT taxable. We entered an override sales tax code that has 0% tax so that when we create the work orders, it should automatically marks these as not taxable. Unfortunately it doesn't. For every Service Contract, we may have multiple work orders created. Every time we create work orders, we have to check to see if the service contract is taxable or not, and then edit each work order's tax code where the code is different.
This creates a LOT of extra work as well as potential for error. Hundreds of work orders per month would have to be manually touched.
Development indicated that this is working as designed. Please change it. It is very cumbersome and error-ridden the way it is currently designed.
