We feel that the software should do the work instead of relying on the users to catch errors which is why we are requesting that you give your customers the ability in setup to either allow or disallow for work order billing of inventory items if the qty does not exist in the warehouse the user is trying to bill from.

Maybe some consideration should be given to allow for this to be a setup option so your customers can choose how they want to handle these type of issues.
Note: Some of your competitors have it as a setup option.
Here's the background as to why it works this way:
Right, wrong or indifferent, we made the decision to not have the software hinder folks doing actual business. Said another way, we didn't want to prevent the sale of materials simply because someone in the back office hadn't gotten around to updating an invoice. The thought was, if the goods existed, then they could be sold.
