Any percentage based deduction/add-on is being calculated on “Sick Leave” hours incorrectly as vacation, NEBF and NECA can no longer be calculated on a percentage of “Gross Pay” as “Gross Pay” now includes sick leave which is not subjected to these three add-ons and deductions. In order to get reimbursed by the jobs for sick leave, we must code the leave to the job thus causing the problem. The work around outlined below is a manipulation of the system in order to override the deduction and points back to the “User” to remember to change the system in these sick leave cases.
Is there any way to add a “method” to the Union Codes that points the “% of Gross” to point to only “% of Gross” on Regular, Overtime and Double time hours reported and not Sick Leave?
I realize I am requesting a modification of the system and will certainly have to manual modify the system weekly in the meantime as this is addressed. As far as I can tell, the system was working effectively until the new law was enacted but now, can it be revisited to write a code that works?
