Our organization, like many is a multi-national construction organization. As such we have projects running in all geos and time zones. Our field runs several Viewpoint apps on iOS devices including Field View and PTE.
For our Superintendent in remote locales (e.g. Guam which is currently GMT + 9 hrs) selects a date in the PTE app however the date does not match between the Labor Time and the Time Card Screen. Additionally, if the Superintendent selects in the App to enter time to April 2nd, we receive it as his time for April 1st in the PTE portal. We need a way to account for timezone adjustments internationally.
Per our incident with Spectrum/VP (#949739) were were informed "PTE app runs based on server time (where the PTE client is installed) and not local time based on the device. At this point in time there is no way to adjust this short of manually changing the server time."
We need an option in PTE (perhaps others?) to allow device users to use local device time in communication with the PTE server held at Viewpoint. Without this our field and Superintendents spend time "tricking" the time entry to back date their time entries to ensure it hits in the correct day/time. They are spending more time correcting mistakes that reaping the benefits of the app we espoused at go live. This neither helps productivity, accuracy nor adoption.
We need a time zone calibration feature.
