Assets or Resources should have Master Lists, and on those Master Lists should also be a "Home Company" and a "Home Department" taggable fields. Also if any Asset or Resource is on rent (or loan) to any other Company this relationship should also be taggable on the Master List.
Depending how the individual Asset/Resource was tagged on its Master List would determine on which company dropdown list it would appear etc. And also the internal revenue/cost flow etc. (between business entities/cost codes) would be automated according to the Master tagging set-up.
Related external revenues/costs would be assignable to the final internal (rental) Company as tagged in the Master List.
This would facilitate the "automation" of some of the internal (between companies & departments) cash flows, and enable a single Payroll Run for all Companies and allocate the costs and assignments according to the Master List tagging matrix.
