When will Spectrum developers get their security act together and support modern authentication for its POP and IMAP implementations when connecting to Exchange Online? Right now, you only support basic authentication. Your reliance on these mail protocols, which are regular targets of hacking into the accounts of financial and executive staff, puts us at risk. In our office environment, where we use Office 365 (and have two-factor authentication), having the ability to create and populate emails from Spectrum directly into Outlook would be a much more secure means for us to send such emails.

Others have cited the problem as well: https://office365itpros.com/2020/03/03/basic-authentication-exchange-online-so-bad/. When does Spectrum plan to upgrade its email feature to a more secure platform?
