We had a vendor name change. The code stayed the same. When I search by the name, it does not appear but if I search by the same vendor code, the new name appears. It seems the search is not looking to the vendor description name each time.

This may solve the issue here. Go to the A/P Error Recovery menu and run option #2 Recreate Vendor/Phone XREF.
It sounds like the cross ref file didn't get updated properly.
