I would like to suggest enhancements to the sales tax functionality in Spectrum to improve flexibility and reporting.
Override Capability: Allow users to manually override sales or use tax amounts on invoices when necessary. I would like to be able to enter the sales tax amount from the invoice in the sales tax box and the expense follow the GL/job cost in the detail lines without having to enter a separate line.
Monthly Tax Reporting: Introduce a report that summarizes all invoices with sales tax, use tax, or no tax applied.
I worked in another ERP system where you could run a report to excel at the end of the month that would have all invoices paid for the month with detail on which had sales tax, use tax or no tax. I was then able to quickly double check the rates applied, but more importantly review all invoices that did not have sales to ensure we didn't miss anything.
