We need the cash receipts auto sequence to go beyond 9999. There are enough spaces in that field, but for some reason it resets to 1 after 9999. THEN we have to manually type in an assortment of numbers from 1-9999 to find what open reference numbers are still available.
What happens when we do fill out all 9999 adjustments? We have to do so many with our refinery customers.
Please fix or let us control the next sequence number so we can set it to start at 11,000 and so sequentially without issues.

This 4 character field is only one of seven other data elements that create a unque record key. They keys to this reocrd are:
Company Code (3 characters alpha)
Customer Code (10 characters alpha)
Transaction Type (10 characters alpha)
Transaction Number (4 characters alpha)
Invoice Date (MMDDYY)
Invoice # (10 characters alpha)
Invoice type (I or C)
These seven fields create a 'key' that is used to store and call up the data. For this reason, the transaction ref is just one part of the key here.
In other words, duplicate transaction numbers will not hurt or corrupt the system.
