Product: Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum
Service: API Web Services > Accounts Payable Services > AddAPInvoice
The Issue: The current documentation for the AddAPInvoice web service states that the PO_Number field is deprecated and should be left blank. If used, the data is either dumped into the Remarks field or causes an error.
The Problem: In Spectrum, an invoice cannot be linked to a Purchase Order after the invoice has been created. Because the API does not support the PO link at the point of creation, it makes the web service unusable for any PO-backed workflow.
Operational Impact:
Manual Bottleneck: We process hundreds of invoices a month. Since we can't link POs via the API, we are forced to enter these manually to ensure 3-way matching and proper PO commitment relief.
Broken Automation: Moving a PO number to the "Remarks" field is a cosmetic fix that fails to trigger the necessary financial logic in Spectrum.
Requested Change: Please restore the PO_Number as a functional, validated field in the AddAPInvoice service that maps directly to the native Spectrum PO field.
Is anyone else in the Spectrum community unable to automate their AP because of this API limitation? This is a major hurdle for those of us trying to scale our operations.
