Tracking Missed Vendor Discounts in Accounts Payable
We are requesting enhanced functionality within Accounts Payable to track, report, and quantify vendor discounts taken vs. missed, with specific visibility into delays caused by the approval process.
Currently, there is no native mechanism in Spectrum to:
Track whether discounts were taken or missed
Quantify the financial impact of missed discounts
Attribute delays to approval workflow timing
As a result:
Discounts are frequently missed due to delayed approvals
There is no reliable or automated way to measure the financial impact
Manual tracking via spreadsheets is time-consuming, error-prone, and not cost-effective
This enhancement would:
Quantify real financial loss from delayed approvals
Improve accountability in approval workflows
Encourage timely processing of invoices
Reduce manual tracking efforts
Provide actionable insights for management
Even modest improvements in discount capture can result in meaningful cost savings across high-volume vendors.
