Requisition Entry would cause a negative quantity-on-hand warning

When entering requisitions into the Inventory system, sometimes a requisition is processed that causes the quantity on hand to go into the negative. This can be a warning of an error that could be easier to fix if you are warned at the time of entry, when the paperwork is in front of you, instead of when you are running your reports at the end of the period. I'd like to request a pop-up window that would appear when you enter a quantity in requisition entry that would cause an item to go into the negative or at least when you enter the item code, a cell would show the available quantity of that item at that time.
