Description:
Currently, Spectrum enforces inactive cost center validation only on direct user entries, but not on imported transactions (e.g., AP, AR, GL etc.). This creates a gap where imports are allowed to post to cost centers that have been flagged as inactive.
Business Impact:
Increases risk of financial misstatement by allowing activity to post to decommissioned cost centers.
Requires recurring manual reclassifications to clean up GL history.
Adds unnecessary overhead to monthly/quarterly financial close.
Enhancement Request:
Please enhance Spectrum so that inactive cost center validation is applied consistently across all transaction sources—including imports via web services, batch entries, and 3rd-party integrations. The system should block postings to inactive cost centers regardless of entry method, ensuring data integrity and alignment with user expectations.

Ensures stronger financial controls and compliance.
Reduces manual corrections and improves efficiency.
Provides consistency in system behavior between manual entry and imports.
