Weighted average overtime calculation does not seem work properly when an employee works on a prevailing wage job with required overtime rates, if that employee worked at a lower rate earlier in the week.
The calculation should be as follows: The weighted overtime average is the total pay for all work divided by the total straight-time hours worked during the week, unless the overtime hours are on a job marked as prevailing wage or Davis-Bacon, with a higher overtime rate required.
If overtime is calculated on a prevailing wage/Davis Bacon job, use the higher of the prevailing wage rate in effect or the weighted average overtime calculation above.
Spectrum seems to calculate based only on a weighted average of hours worked and does not account for jobs that require pay rates or add-on stipends, such as on-call pay, non-discretionary bonuses, etc.
