Unposted entries (such as Payroll, A/P, and other journal entries) are visible in many job cost reports. However, since the only way to correct a journal entry error is to reverse and re-enter the transaction, it would be far more efficient if unposted entries were also visible within the Trial Balance.
Having the ability to review unposted entries in the Trial Balance prior to posting would allow us to confirm the expected financial impact before finalizing the transaction. This would significantly reduce the need for reversals and re-entries.
In addition to saving time, this enhancement would help keep the Trial Balance cleaner by reducing unnecessary “in-and-out” activity created by correcting entries. Overall, this change would improve accuracy, efficiency, and clarity in financial reporting.
