Cash Receipts: Checks and ACH (Ability to post by one ACH cash transaction and then apply to multiple customers)

We currently post Cash Receipts by customer.  I propose we change that and post by check, meaning one check, posting too many customers. 

My issues are, our company has both a service and construction division, both running their own customer numbers.  The other, is one check could be posted to 5 different LLC’s/customers.  Not exaggerating, I have one or two.  The ACH could also be posted as one “Check” to many customers.  You would save time by only entering in the check information once and balancing.
