AP invoices cannot be routed for approval if you want to have the banking information attached, forcing you to send debit card transactions through the approval routing and get completely posted as unpaid invoices before you can go back and apply the payment to the transaction. Why can't these be handled in the same way as credit card transactions? When I asked spectrum support, she told me that because the money has already been spent as far as the bank is concerned, we don't need it to go through the approval process, but that is just not true. Even if the money is already spent, managers still want to review the transactions to make sure employees aren't making inappropriate swipes of the card and the accountants want to review the coding for accuracy. Why make debit card transactions harder to review than credit card transactions? Employees who are stretched for time are more likely to cut corners and just apply the payment information during the initial entry and post invoices without sending them through the approval boxes, which results in errors that need to be corrected.
