The recommendation is to clear cache upon closing the browser but doing so clears any column preferences (and probably others). Explicitly set user preferences should persist through clearing cache.

Just came over from V13 and it is driving me crazy that my columns keep moving back. This is very frustrating and time consuming to have to move them around over and over. There must be a better way!
We would need to create a new control for the screens. The existing control relies on the browser for its settings. So it would require us to develop a new one. Then once it exists, we would need to go screen by screen and add it in.
So in theory it is possible, but it isn't something we will undertake.
In theory yes...but it is cost prohibitive on my side. There are many other projects that we have to address (i.e. security, new tax law changes and so on).
Geoff, wouldn't it be possible to create a PA table to store the column preferences based on the function name? That way, it would not be stored in the browser cache and would actually work on any browser (in theory).
We do not have the ability to control this one. While I completely understand the request, it is not possible with today's browsers. For this reason, I am going to mark this as Will Not Implement.
