Derive Earned Revenue from Deferred Revenue so that earned revenue for straight-line SCs is directly related to the SC's billings/contract total.
Currently, for straight-line service contracts, earned revenue is only accrued based on the contracts "Schedule", which is completely independent of a SC's bills/total contract amount.

Thanks for the response, Geoffrey.
Let me clarify my suggestion:
We've had situations were a contracts dates or amounts changed and we forgot to update the schedule, causing us to accrue erroneous revenue.
Therefore, to better protect us from ourselves, I believe it would make sense if earned revenue were forcibly tied to a contract's dates, amount, and billings.
There's currently no mechanism I'm aware of that monitors the relationship between deferred revenue and earned revenue. I can schedule $1,000,000 of earned revenue for a $1 contract without any warnings or restrictions.
There must be something we are missing, because using straight line earnings is just that. It has nothing to do with the scheudling of visits. Now the 'Visit dates' option does what you were saying...
But a straightline version exists today
