25 - 30 Chars are too small for these fields and need to be enlarged. We are issuing subcontracts, which are legal documents, and we can't even fit complete names due to limitations (so we have to edit the PDF to enter the full name) NOT acceptable!
Also Phase descriptions and Phase Details, these are not inventory items (4500 PSI Concrete w/Air). These are descriptions of what needs to be done. I have had to modify our reports to use the Phase Notes instead of the description when we print out our Job Phases in reports and Subcontracts. But Phase Details has no note or memo field.
This has to be fixed across the board in all the modules, we should not have to abbreviate crucial areas. Customers / Vendor names should be 50-75 (as we do not control their names and we need to enter their legal name in contracts). Phases & Phase details need to be a memo field or at least 150 characters as we have descriptions we receive from our customers that must contain all the information (for us and our subs). We do not want to describe line items in a note section at the bottom, we want the information on the line item to be at the line item, notes are for overall project notes, not for line items.
Again we do not control what is given to us, but must be in our legal documents. Data is cheap, and expanding critical fields lengths is an imperative not an option.

I believe I just put in a similar idea. Can we get an update on when/if this can be done? Looks like quite a number of requests similar to this one have been open for 4-5 years.

It's incredible that this particular idea has amassed 46 votes with no communication from the Viewpoint side. We are running into Positive Pay errors with our bank because we can't fit a vendor's full name on top of the reasons above. unreal.
