CA is set up with a state disability calculation of 1% with a limit of $122,909. We were expecting that employees who hit their limit would have $1,229.09 held; however, we're seeing employees with less than that ($1,228.96) all the way up to employees with more than that ($1,229.20) held. Apparently the calculation looks to the subject to amount to determine when it stops calculating rather than the actual amount held. When the check is issued, rounding affects the actual amounts held, causing there to be amounts under and over the limit. We'd like to see the way this calculates changed.
