Invoice detail to correct P.O. receiving

If p.o. lines are overbilled during invoice entry (which Spectrum allows) and the p.o. is still open, the remaining p.o. line amount does not show as negative on the detail p.o. status report.
Spectrum will not allow - without warning - going over the p.o. as a whole so but will on the lines - The result is temporary over inflation of committed cost. Closing the p.o. will eliminate the problem but it's not always possible.
We have taken to entering zero invoices and reallocating among the lines. The lines show positive and negative numbers on the "amount due" field, however this is a pretax number so you have to manually calculate to get exact amounts.
I think a post tax line total would be helpful as well as resolution to the matter in general.
